Sr. Adv. P H Arvindh Pandian

 

P.H. Arvindh Pandian is a highly experienced and renowned Indian lawyer who was among the youngest in the bar to be designated as a Senior Advocate. He graduated from Dr. Ambedkar Law College, University of Madras, and has 29+ years of practice in the Bar, with core specialization in corporate law, Mergers & Acquisitions, insolvency & restructuring, and tax law. He practices extensively before the Hon’ble NCLAT and the Hon’ble Madras High Court.

He was a partner of SUBBARAYA AIYAR PADMANABHAN & RAMAMANI, a highly reputed Tax Law Firm of the late Shri K.R. Ramamani, an eminent Advocate on Income Tax.

Arvindh Pandian served as the Additional Advocate General of the Tamil Nadu Government for almost 8 years spanning between March 2012 to May 2021.

He is the Specialist Editor of A. Ramaiya’s “The Guide to The  Companies Act,” serves as an authoritative guide on the subject. He is the co-author of the widely referred book on “GUIDE TO TAKEOVERS AND MERGERS” published by Lexis Nexis Butterworths & Wadhwa.

He obtained training in mediation from Harvard Negotiation Institute, Harvard Law School of USA in June 2010 and is a Member of the Mediation Committee of the Hon’ble High Court of Madras.

He is a Faculty member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India on Company Law and Economic and other legislations.

 

Various other positions held by Mr. Arvindh Pandian are:

  • President, Secretary, and Treasurer (2 years tenure each) of the Revenue Bar Association.

 

  • Nominated as a Member of the Executive Council of the Tamil Nadu National Law University, Trichy in 2016 and again in 2019 by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Madras High Court and Chancellor of the University.

 

  • Member of the Academic Senate of Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai – 2012-2015

 

  • Member of the Committee appointed to preserve and protect the Heritage Buildings situated within the High Court Campus – 2014-2016

 

  • Former Member of “THE GENDER SENSITISATION AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT THE MADRAS HIGH COURT and INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE” constituted by the Madras High Court

 

  • Nominated in 2003 by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as member of an Expert Committee constituted by the Government of India to amend certain provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, relating to mergers and demergers.

 

  • Founder-Trustee of CHENNAI INTERNATIONAL CENTRE.

 

  • Director of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited for 4 years – 2004 – 2008
