Professor (Dr.) Kamlesh P. Joshipura is among the most prominent leaders of higher education in the Gujarat region. He held the position of vice chancellor of two state universities in Gujarat for three terms. As the Vice Chancellor of two different universities, Prof. Joshipura played a dynamic role in streamlining the administration, reinvigorating and restructuring the academic culture, and bringing about transparency and accountability in the system.

Prof. Kamlesh Joshipura also has vast experience and exposure at the global level. He was part of a high-level delegation of senior vice chancellors from India under the aegis of the Indo-US Higher Education Mission in 2009. Subsequently, it was also part of the Indo-UK higher education mission in 2010 (under the aegis of the UK-India Education and Research Initiative). Prof. Joshipura also participated in various International Educational Summits of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Prof. Joshipura has headed a delegation of leading educationists from Gujarat to explore the possibilities for academic collaborations with various universities in Australia. Under the guidance of Prof. Joshipura, the Legal Research Foundation has conducted various training programs in the areas of educational leadership, legal awareness, international law, human rights, etcetera.

Prof. Kamlesh Joshipura is a senior faculty member of law and has 33 years of experience as a law teacher, including seventeen years as a professor and in equivalent and above positions. Prof. Joshipura had the privilege of steering multiple high-powered committees in various institutions and organizations at the national and state levels as a chairman as well as a member. He has been a member of the search committee for the selection of vice-chancellors at 14 universities of national repute. He was given the responsibility of being a member of the search and selection committee for the Chairman of the University Grants Commission and a member of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi.

A distinguished academician and administrator, he currently works as the Director General of one reputed research institute (SDVP, Pune), which is a recognized institute of ICSSR. Before that, he was a professor of law at the Department of Law, Saurashtra University. He has been an active member of some professional bodies of law. Being an experienced faculty of law, under his guidance, more than 20 students have completed their Ph.D. He has more than 80 publications to his credit. He has been a member of the editorial board for some reputed journals. He holds the degrees of Ph.D. and D.Litt. His areas of specialization are Constitutional Law, Insurance Law, Exim Law and Forensic Science (LL.M. level), Social Justice, Social Security and Labour Law, University Administration, Legal Research, and Educational Management and Governance.

Prof. K. P. Joshipura exhibited his leadership qualities in the different responsibilities he held as the Vice-Chancellor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot, for two terms, as the founder Vice Chancellor of IITE, as Chairman of many committees, and as a member of different statutory bodies of academic institutions at the state and national levels.
